About me

Hi there! I'm Kareem El-Hajjar.

I’m a recent software engineering graduate eager to apply the knowledge and skills I've acquired during my time at university towards a meaningful objective.

I'm fluent in both English and Arabic, with proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking. Additionally, I have a basic understanding of French.

When it comes to programming, my favortie languages are Python and Java. I've also gained experience in other languages such as C, C++, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I am very familiar with full stack development, database management, and low-level programming. Throughout my university journey, I've honed my skills through various group and solo projects. Feel free to explore some of my favorite projects here.

One area that has captivated my attention recently is Artificial Intelligence. Machine learning, especially iterative improvement, has always intrigued me. This interest in AI has been fueled by online content, and I've gathered a collection of my favorite resources, and thoughts about them, which you can find here.

My passion for programming originated from my fascination with computer hardware and the intricate aspects of game design. Having been an avid gamer for most of my life, I've gained valuable insights into the game development process which, along with the knowledge I've gained from my software engineering degree, have shaped my perspective on building software applications and hardware.

When it comes to video games, my all-time favorite is CS:GO (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive). I've been involved with the Counter-Strike franchise since I was just 10 years old, and my appreciation for the game remains strong. Whether it's the easy-to-learn, difficult-to-master gameplay, the thriving skin market, or the meticulous attention to detail in map design, there are various aspects to enjoy about Counter-Strike. You can delve deeper into my thoughts on Counter-Strike here.

Beyond video games, I also have a knack for puzzle solving and logic games. During the pandemic, I found myself captivated in solving Sudoku puzzles, which then led me to explore other logical and numerical puzzles such as Kakuro, Crosswords, Picross, Futoshiki, and more. I've discovered that I derive much more satisfaction from engaging in well-constructed puzzles than mindlessly scrolling through social media. You can read more about my favorite puzzles here.

That sums up what you need to know about me. If you are interested in my work experience you can check out my résumé, or if you have any comments or inquiries, please feel free to contact me below.
